Fridge broke in less than five years

We bought this less than five years ago and it died. We paid for the protection warranty but it took 7 days for them to come out to fix it. We lost food which was very upsetting. I pleaded with them to make a sooner appt but they didnt have a tech coming to my area for a week. grrrr. The man that finally did come out was very nice and efficient.

LG Stands behind their product

What a Lemon

I bought this 4 years 4 months ago its been a headache. It suddenly stopped cooling or freezing the compressor went out everything in the freezer melted I had enough so replaced with another brand. I have many LG products but will never buy an LG refrigerator again. Previous to this there were 2 instances where I replaced the water filter the connection went bad flooding my fridge as I went to purge the line. I had to replace the line twice The drop down shelf is annoying it drops down all by itself sending anything on the shelf flying. I had to jam tiedowns under the shelf to stabilize turned it into a stationary shelf. I dont know if all LG fridges are this bad or I just bought a lemon but Im done

Worst Fridge Ever

I will never buy LG products again. They should stick to making phones. Their appliance are garbage they did not work from day one. I have spent 2 years of my time trying to get them to replace or refund the fridge. That means I have been without a working freezer or water and ice maker for over 2 years. Every single time I called I had to start the trouble shooting all over again. There is a federal lawsuit concerning the compressors on these fridges and they continue to sell them knowing that they are faulty. Getting a certified technician out take almost a month and the compressor has to fail 3 times before they will refund the fridge price. DO NOT BUY THIS FRIDGE

I like the LGs ice maker more than the S brand. They have a white seal that gets scuffed up and turns black in the store displays. No such seal needed on the LG. Little details like this can be seen throughout. Looked at dishwashers this weekend and found the same things. LG designs things much better.

Horrible Chat response issue with LG refrig

Plenty of space crystal clear water that tastes amazing and cubed/crushed ice at is the perfect size. Bought this refrigerator in late 2017. Just after it ran out of warranty five years later the compressor quit. LG covered the cost of the new compressor but I had to pay to get a tech to install it. Do not buy these refrigerators

Our last refrigerator lasted 16 years and it was a side by side. We had been wanting a French door refrigerator but werent sure about issues we had heard about with the ice maker in the door. After talking with our salesman and a repair man we decided on this LG refrigerator. It is quiet and has lots of room. My only reason for giving it the 4 stars is that the ice maker has a small reservoir meaning fewer ice cubes. We tend to go through a lot of ice and water in our house. Not a huge issue we just need to remember to dump the ice maker ice into the storage container in the freezer when we have extra so that we can continue to generate more ice for our family.

Bought it a month ago to replace my 11 year old LG frig. Very happy with it except for ice maker. Ice is filled with air bubbles causing them to melt quickly in a drink. You need to fill the glass with ice and then poor in the juice which results in a watered down drink. Followed customer support suggestions to no avail.

We did not really purchase in March. We purchased in October after LG could not supply the first unit we purchased. Our appliances were delivered in November and all looked fine. A couple weeks passed by. The handle on the bottom freezer came loose. Obviously it was not tight. When the right side of the handle came loose it caused the handle to scratch the left side of the freezer door several places. I was on the phone with LG and Home Depot for more than 1 hour getting passed around to multiple people with no results.

We inherited a LG refrigerator at our other home so when it came time to replace the one at our 2nd home we chose a newer model. Key features include: ice maker built into the door saving space + love the small cubes. Also 2 bottom freezer drawers hold more than our previous side freezer same capacity. I bought this in 2018 its been an a great investment. it finally gave out in November 24 2022.Very disappointed with the extended warranty Allstate. It broke down during thanksgiving and we are now in a new year 1/13/23and it has not been fix. We have no working refrigerator and still no time set of when they will come and fix it or replace it. Very disappointed.

I am not happy with this puchase. I have had this since late May of 2022 .. the ice maker gave up in August. Looks pretty on the outside but the touch and feel of the interior is pretty cheap and flimsy. I didnt realize the two freezer drawers do not have independent temp controls until after it arrived. Its loud and makes wierd noises like a drill. I expecter more for almost 3K.

2 years in and here goes the repairs.

We like the black stainless look but right away it started to chip off. It also does not allow the front of the fridge to be magnetic. We like the room the french doors allow but the freezer is not tall enough. The same space saving icemaker is a pain and does not hold enough ice. Right now for the past month+ Ive had to buy ice because the icemaker has quit. We bought the extra warranty plan and have had an LG repairman out twice. Still no ice. I hate calling because they constantly ask your name address phone number model and serial number as well as your purchase order pictures of purchase receipt policy plan etc. They want to access your phone so they can see the fridge on your camera. Mind you I had to register the fridge with all this info. to even get started. All I know is Im frustrated I paid alot for a fridge and insurance policy and still dont have ice. No matter how many times I give out all this information it doesnt fix the icemaker.

It is easier to organize the ice and water function is faster the open door reminder is great and the refrigeration/freeze temperatures are perfect. I prefer this to the side by side arrangement I had before. I am happy.
